This paper investigates the application of nanotechnology to tackle water contamination by synthesizing and characterizing samarium (Sm) and cobalt (Co) doped strontium hexaferrites (SrFe12O19) using a flash auto-combustion technique. The study examines the structural, magnetic, and adsorption properties of the synthesized materials and their effectiveness in removing lead (Pb) ions from aqueous solutions. The doped hexaferrites exhibited strong magnetic properties, enabling efficient magnetic separation and contaminant adsorption. Adsorption kinetics and isotherm models were assessed, with the materials achieving a 99% removal efficiency at pH 7. The findings highlight the potential of these materials for wastewater treatment applications.
