Innovative application of graphene nanoplatelet-based ionanofluids as heat transfer fluid in hybrid photovoltaic-thermal solar collector
The paper of the day investigates the application of graphene nanoplatelet-based ionanofluids as advanced heat transfer fluids in hybrid photovoltaic-thermal solar collectors. The ionanofluids were formulated using graphene nanoplatelets and the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate, demonstrating superior thermal properties. Comparative experiments revealed that ionanofluids led to a significantly higher temperature rise within the solar collector compared to water and pure ionic liquid, contributing to an energy efficiency improvement of over 5%. The research paves the way for further research and optimization in renewable energy systems.
