Machine learning nanophotonic sensor organic pollutant detection degradation in water
The paper of the day explores the use of silver nanoparticles and ZnO nanorods on silica nanofibers, for the detection and degradation of organic pollutants in water. With over 98% degradation efficiency for organic dyes under UV light, the sensor also serves as a highly sensitive SERS platform, detecting pollutants like antibiotics at concentrations as low as 1 pg/mL. Enhanced by machine learning, the sensor achieves 92.3% accuracy in identifying pollutants, combining eco-friendly technology with advanced analytical tools for environmental monitoring.
