Manufacture of 3D Compact Graphene Oxide Macrostructures
The paper of the day from advanced materials interfaces talks about different methods to manufacture 3D graphene oxide macro structures. Graphene oxide (GO) a 2D carbon material comprises graphene sheets with oxygen-containing functional groups. Graphene oxide macro structures are fabricated using molding, 3D printing, origami and kirigami and stimuli-responsive deformation. This review gives you a detailed report on graphene oxide macro structure manufacturing and its morphological data from scanning electron microscopy images. All these manufacturing methods come with their own advantages and disadvantages, which are explained in detail in this paper. GO performs better than many traditional engineering materials when a structure needs to be stiff, strong, and lightweight. With improved mechanical properties these 3D compact graphene oxide macrostructures can be effectively used in real-time applications.
