The paper of the day from Advanced Materials Interfaces talks about the antibiofilm and antimicrobial activity of electro-chemically deposited reduced graphene oxide on aluminum substrates. To overcome the limitations of aluminum such as microbial contamination and corrosion reduced graphene oxide is used. The surface hydrophobicity of rGO-Al promotes a stable interaction with the microbes. As a 2D material, rGO has better conductive and antimicrobial properties which can be used in biological applications. In this paper, the Graphene oxide is converted to reduce Graphene oxide by electrochemical method due to the removal of oxygen-containing surface groups.
