The paper of the day is about antibiotic (amikacin, kanamycin, tobramycin) adsorption onto gallium-metal organic frameworks and imide-functionalized MOFs. The researcher has used molecular dynamics stimulation to understand interaction between antibiotic and adsorbent. The simulation results suggest π-π stacking interactions contributed to strong binding between antibiotics and substrates. This study suggest that MOFs present a viable solution for removing antibiotics from aqueous environments.
