The paper of day tracks over 30 years of coral reef infrastructure degradation in Barbados, analyzing reef structure changes from 1950 to 2023 using satellite imagery. Findings revealed continuous reef loss, averaging 137.68 m² annually, with algae-covered substrate dominating over live coral. The study underscores climate change, local stressors (e.g., pollution, overfishing, coastal development), and tourism impacts as key drivers of reef decline. Advanced satellite monitoring and conservation strategies are recommended to mitigate further loss and preserve reef ecosystems.
